Yes. The Plume Large is specifically engineered for power users. It comfortably fits the 16-inch MacBook Pro, as well as most standard 15.6-inch PC laptops (like Dell XPS 15, ThinkPad X1 Extreme, or HP Spectre).
Will it fit my Windows 15.6" laptop (Dell XPS 15, ThinkPad, Surface Laptop Studio, etc.)?

Is the bag heavy? Is it comfortable to carry fully loaded?
Full-grain leather is naturally heavier than nylon or canvas because it is real, thick hide. The bag itself weighs approximately 3.3 lbs (1.5 kg). However, to ensure comfort when you are carrying a heavy 16" laptop and chargers, we include our detachable "Caribou" shoulder pad. It is thick and padded to distribute the weight evenly across your shoulder, preventing digging.
Can I fit a water bottle, lunch, and my gym clothes inside?
The Plume Large is a "daily office driver," not a duffel bag.
- What Fits: Your 15/16" laptop, a large power brick (charger), a mouse, an A4 notebook, a tablet, and a slim water bottle (if placed upright).
- What Won't Fit: Bulky gym shoes or large Tupperware containers alongside a laptop. Overstuffing the bag can distort the leather's shape over time.
Does the leather look "distressed" or "old" when it arrives?
Yes, and that is intentional! We use Crazy Horse Leather, which is treated with wax. Out of the box, it may have some light marks or tonal variations. This isn't a flaw; it's the nature of the leather. As you use it, these marks blend into a rich, glossy patina that makes your bag look better after 5 years than it did on day one.
Does the bag stand up on its own?
Crazy Horse leather is supple, not rigid like a plastic shell. When empty, the bag may lean forward. However, once loaded with a laptop and documents, the structure fills out, and it will generally sit upright on your desk or car seat.
Is it comfortable for commuting with a laptop?
Yes, within messenger-bag realities. Use crossbody carry, keep the bag riding higher, and let the padded detachable shoulder pad do its job. For long walks with heavy loads, any single-strap bag can fatigue one shoulder.

Letter (8.5" x 11") can be tight depending on what else you carry; A4 (11.7" tall) typically won’t sit flat. If paper-first carry is your workflow, choose a briefcase-style build rather than a messenger-first silhouette.
Is the zipper reliable?
Yes. We use a YKK brass zipper (primary access and pocket security).
Is it comfortable for daily commuting?
A messenger is fastest for access, but it’s still a one-strap carry. Keep the load lean, wear it crossbody (bag riding higher, not hanging low), and let the shoulder pad sit across your chest line for stability on longer walks.
Is it secure for city use?
Yes. You have a zip pocket outside, a zip pocket inside, and a dedicated laptop compartment. Keep valuables in the interior zipper pocket for best security.
Is the hardware durable?

Will the color rub off on my clothes (Dye Transfer)?
Because Crazy Horse leather is rich in oils and waxes, there is a small chance of color transfer (bleeding) during the first few weeks, especially if rubbed against white fabrics in hot or humid weather.
Is it waterproof or water-resistant?
It is water-resistant. The natural waxes repel water, so light rain will bead up and roll off. However, it is not waterproof. If you get caught in a downpour, wipe the bag dry and let it air dry naturally (away from heaters) to protect the leather.
What leather is it, and why does it look different piece to piece?
We use full-grain leather with natural grain and tone variation. Real leather isn’t a uniform plastic sheet; variation is the authenticity signal.
What is the difference between Full-Grain and "Genuine" Leather?
We never use "genuine leather," which is often just scraps glued together. At Yukon, we only use Premium Full-Grain Crazy Horse Leather. This is the highest grade of leather available. It’s the top layer of the hide, meaning it retains all the natural strength and fibers. It doesn’t just last for years; it’s built to last for generations.
Does Crazy Horse leather scratch easily? Is that normal?
Yes, light marks are normal and part of the pull-up character. Those “wear signals” are what turn into patina, not product failure.
How do I maintain and clean the leather?
Crazy Horse leather is low maintenance.
- Weekly: Wipe dust off with a dry, soft cloth.
- Yearly: Apply a high-quality leather conditioner (like a wax or balm) to keep the leather supple and hydrated. Avoid chemical detergents or soap.
Can I add a monogram? Are personalized items returnable?

IF YOUR YUKON CRAZY HORSE LEATHER BAG GETS WET:
- Simply wipe dry with a soft leather cloth.
- Do not store your bag while wet.
- Wipe off any moisture before storing to prevent mold or mildew.
- After drying bag: Hang to dry or turn bag inside-out.
- Do not use a hairdryer or any type of heat to dry your bag. Applying heat can cause the leather to crack or harden.
FOR SPILLS:
- Wipe spills off with a slightly dampened cloth.
- Do NOT use detergents or cleansers on your Crazy Horse leather bag – this will discolor the leather and can destroy the beauty of the bag.

I like the bag. It is light in weight, quality leather, European style. However, I think it is expensive for the design features. It should be able to hold the laptop sheath bought from you. Also should have a leather handle for pick up with one hand. Customer service should be more transparent with their marketing and features information.
These bags are amazing, the craftsmanship, the detail to attention, I love them! This is my second plume leather bag (small and large). I also just purchased a Vanier Leather Passport Wallet today!
The LARGE fits my 16" Mac Book Pro laptop. I cannot wait to travel with it now.
I have now ordered two of these. One for me and one for the Wife. I love the look & style of these bags as well as the quality. The only two things I don't like is the laptop sleeve part is fairly small, but I guess this would work fine for most people that have a typical business size laptop. I have a larger one I use for graphics things and it barely fits, but this is not an issue with the bag.
The only real change is I think the bag could use a handle. My previous laptop bag had one, and I didn't realize how often I actually used the handle until I got this bag without one. Makes it rather hard to do certain things, like walking down the isle of an airplane where there is not enough room to carry it over the shoulder or it will fall off or hit everyone. Makes it awkward to carry / grasp.
Other than that I love the bag!
Very good quality leather with style. I did have an issue with one of the buckles coming off fairly quickly after receiving it but i managed to attacked it back on. Yukon was quick to send another buckle.
Only had for a few short weeks but already taken on two week-long business trips. The quality of the leather and stitching is top notch. Fits a 15" laptop, a secondary monitor and charge cords with ease. Awesome looking bag the can be dressed up or down. It is also wearing beautifully and adding character to the bag to give it an upscale vintage feel. Love it! Worth every penny and would definitely buy again.
