Some brands use acids and natural fats to provide a dollop of softness and waterproofing. Although these common ingredients provide a few short-term advantages, overall, they may harm the leather. Natural fats prevent breathability (leather needs to breathe to prevent cracking) and can turn rancid, leaving a not-so-pleasant lingering odor. Acids soften the leather and provide a temporary sheen but weaken the fibers, shortening the leather’s lifespan. We leave the impure ingredients out of our conditioning cream – instead, Yukon’s specially developed Pure Conditioning Cream is full of pure, natural ingredients like sweet cacao butter and sweet almond oil to extend the life of your leather while keeping it soft, supple, and weather & water-resistant. Sweet cacao butter repels water, prevents sun damage, and provides suppleness. It contains natural UV protection that prevents fading while enriching the leather’s natural sheen, color, and patina. Sweet cacao butter and sweet almond oil provide the nourishment that leather needs to stay soft, supple, and strong, without leaving behind any unwanted film or residue. Sweet almond oil absorbs quickly into leather, providing a natural protective layer that repels water, sun damage, dust, dirt, and dryness.

Will Afon darken or change the color of my leather?
It can slightly deepen tone and increase sheen, especially on pull-up leathers like Crazy Horse. That’s normal. Always test a small hidden area first, then apply a thin layer. If you want the lightest possible look, use less product and buff thoroughly.
How often should I use the Afon Leather Conditioning Kit?
For most bags: once or twice a year. In very dry climates or heavy daily use, you may condition a bit more frequently, but avoid over-conditioning to protect structure and shape.
Does it make leather waterproof?
No. It improves water resistance and helps repel light moisture, but it won’t make leather waterproof. If you need maximum water protection, wax-heavy products usually darken more.
Can I use it on any color of Yukon leather?
Yes. The conditioning cream can be used on any color of our leather. Color options on the product are for the pouch, not the cream.

I have a nut allergy. Is this safe?
No. This product contains almond oil. If you have a nut allergy, especially almonds, consult your physician or avoid use.
Will it leave residue, feel sticky, or make the leather greasy?
Not when applied correctly. Use a small amount, spread a thin even layer, let it absorb, then buff off any excess. Over-application is the main cause of tacky feel or surface buildup.
How do I apply it (best practice)?
1) Wipe dust off with a dry soft cloth. 2) Test a small patch. 3) Apply a thin layer with the applicator. 4) Let it absorb. 5) Buff dry and remove excess.
Can I use Afon on suede or nubuck?
We do not recommend it. Suede and nubuck require suede-specific care products; standard conditioners can flatten nap and change texture.
Can I use it on other leather goods (shoes, wallets, furniture)?
Yes, on smooth full-grain and top-grain leathers. Patch test first, especially on light colors and finished leathers.
Does it have a strong smell or go rancid over time?
Our formula avoids natural fats that can turn rancid and create lingering odor in some conditioners. Store closed, away from heat and direct sun.
What are the pouch dimensions?

What leather is it made from?
Full-grain cowhide Crazy Horse leather. It’s a waxed pull-up leather that darkens and gains patina with use, so every bag becomes visually unique.
Is it waterproof?
No. It’s built for real life and handles light moisture well when wiped promptly, but it is not waterproof. If it gets wet, wipe it dry and let it air-dry naturally, away from heat.
Do you source leather responsibly?
Yes. We exclusively purchase hides from L.W.G. Gold Certified tanneries.
Can I add monogramming?
Yes. Monogramming is available as an add-on. Limit is 12 characters, and you can choose from multiple fonts.
Are monogrammed items returnable?
No. Personalized or monogrammed items are not eligible for returns or exchanges, so confirm spelling and font before checkout.
What is your return window for non-personalized items?
30 days from purchase, provided the item is unused and in original packaging.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. We offer a limited 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.

IF YOUR YUKON CRAZY HORSE LEATHER BAG GETS WET:
- Simply wipe dry with a soft leather cloth.
- Do not store your bag while wet.
- Wipe off any moisture before storing to prevent mold or mildew.
- After drying bag: Hang to dry or turn bag inside-out.
- Do not use a hairdryer or any type of heat to dry your bag. Applying heat can cause the leather to crack or harden.
FOR SPILLS:
- Wipe spills off with a slightly dampened cloth.
- Do NOT use detergents or cleansers on your Crazy Horse leather bag – this will discolor the leather and can destroy the beauty of the bag.
- If necessary: Use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub away any stains.

TO ELIMINATE UNWANTED SCRATCHES:
- Using a soft dry cloth – rub scratch in a circular motion to redistribute wax coating.
- For a deep scratch - leather wax can be applied to bring the leather back to its previous condition.
- Leather cream or wax should be applied periodically to preserve softness and luster.

TO AVOID STRETCHING THE LEATHER:
- Limit the number of items stored in the bag over long periods.
- Limit storing heavy items for long periods.
- Avoid over-stuffing pockets.
TO KEEP YOUR CRAZY HORSE LEATHER SOFT AND SUPPLE:
- TEST a small patch before coating entire bag. Some products can change the color of the leather.
- Apply a THIN, even layer of leather balm or leather wax to your bag with a soft, clean sponge.
- Wipe off any excess balm (or wax) with a soft, dry, leather cloth.
We strongly recommend periodically treating your Yukon Bag to a coating of leather balm or wax to prevent the leather from becoming dry or cracked.
Caution: Overuse of products designed to keep leather soft can result in too much softening and may result in the bag losing its shape.
STORING YOUR CRAZY HOUSE LEATHER BAG:
- Protect your Yukon bag by storing it in a clean, dry space.
- Wipe away any moisture before storing your bag.
- Be sure the bag is completely DRY before storing it.
- For optimal results in maintaining the bag’s shape – empty bag before storing.
- For long periods of storage, we recommend keeping the bag in a soft cotton pillowcase. This will prevent discoloration from dust or infestation by insects (always check for them after a hike!).
- If you plan for your bag to stay in storage for an extended length of time, inspect it every 3-4 weeks. If you store the bag without emptying it first, check every 1-2 weeks to avoid stretching or mold.

The conditioner worked well and left the leather on my bag with a very rich look. However, I was a little surprised how small the tin was.

The leather conditioner is amazing and brings out all the beautiful colors in the leather, even helps take away the scratches. I love the case that comes with it, but wish the case was leather instead of the suede.
Leather wax works as it is advertised but the leather pouch is slightly smaller than what it looks like it the picture. Overall it’s a good value!
