How do I clean and care for a leather backpack?
Wipe dust with a dry microfiber cloth. For light marks, use a slightly damp cloth, then dry immediately. Condition sparingly 2–3 times per year with our Afon Yukon Leather Conditioning Kit; apply a pea-sized amount, work it in evenly, and test on a hidden spot first. Avoid soaps, alcohol wipes, baby wipes, silicone sprays, and heavy oils.
Is "Crazy Horse" leather made from horsehide?
No. It’s full-grain cowhide finished with waxes/oils to create a pull-up effect; the name refers to the finish style, not the animal.
What’s the total capacity in liters, and what does that fit?

How secure is the top closure, and what’s the advantage vs a single zip?
The Harper Large uses a fold-over top that snaps shut. Advantage: fewer exposed openings and quick, secure access. It’s a different security model than a full perimeter zip; think “structured flap security,” not “sealed zipper.”
Is the Harper Large waterproof or water-resistant?
Water-resistant, not waterproof. Light rain and quick splashes are fine; soaking can still penetrate.
What happens if it gets wet, and what’s the correct dry-out process?
Blot immediately, then air-dry at room temperature. Avoid heat-drying (heater, hair dryer, direct sun). After a heavy soak, slow air-dry first; condition lightly only if it feels dry afterward.
Will it fit a 15–16" laptop? What are the sleeve dimensions and closure type?

What is the lining made of, and how do I clean it?

IF YOUR YUKON CRAZY HORSE LEATHER BAG GETS WET:
- Simply wipe dry with a soft leather cloth.
- Do not store your bag while wet.
- Wipe off any moisture before storing to prevent mold or mildew.
- After drying bag: Hang to dry or turn bag inside-out.
- Do not use a hairdryer or any type of heat to dry your bag. Applying heat can cause the leather to crack or harden.
FOR SPILLS:
- Wipe spills off with a slightly dampened cloth.
- Do NOT use detergents or cleansers on your Crazy Horse leather bag – this will discolor the leather and can destroy the beauty of the bag.

TO ELIMINATE UNWANTED SCRATCHES:
- Using a soft dry cloth – rub scratch in a circular motion to redistribute wax coating.
- For a deep scratch - leather wax can be applied to bring the leather back to its previous condition.

TO AVOID STRETCHING THE LEATHER:
- Limit the number of items stored in the bag over long periods.
- Limit storing heavy items for long periods.
- Avoid over-stuffing pockets.
TO KEEP YOUR CRAZY HORSE LEATHER SOFT AND SUPPLE:
- TEST a small patch before coating entire bag. Some products can change the color of the leather.
- Apply a THIN, even layer of leather balm or leather wax to your bag with a soft, clean sponge.
- Wipe off any excess balm (or wax) with a soft, dry, leather cloth.
We strongly recommend periodically treating your Yukon Bag to a coating of leather balm or wax to prevent the leather from becoming dry or cracked.
Caution: Overuse of products designed to keep leather soft can result in too much softening and may result in the bag losing its shape.
STORING YOUR CRAZY HOUSE LEATHER BAG:
- Protect your Yukon bag by storing it in a clean, dry space.
- Wipe away any moisture before storing your bag.
- Be sure the bag is completely DRY before storing it.
- For optimal results in maintaining the bag’s shape – empty bag before storing.
- For long periods of storage, we recommend keeping the bag in a soft cotton pillowcase. This will prevent discoloration from dust or infestation by insects (always check for them after a hike!).

Looks good, the body seems durable. I’ve owed the bad for a couple of years and continue to use it occasionally, but the buckles are magnetic snaps and cheaply made. One buckle snapped and fell off in the airport after only8-10 months. Also like one other reviewer no matter how I adjust the straps they slide.
First off, the quality of the bag was amazing, and the leather work was great. I decided to return the bag and upgrade to the larger Yukon bag because I just needed a larger bag. My one real complaint is the side pockets. They are too small to be practically useful, and the zippers make it hard to access the side pockets. Since the leather is a bit tough and the zippers are firm, it can hurt your hand a bit to reach in and out of the side pockets.
Aside from that, it's a beautiful bag. If you aren't planning on utilizing the side pockets and you are sure the dimensions are suited to your needs, I'd go for it. It can comfortably fit multiple laptops
I have had this bag for about three years now and I have used it extensively to carry my things for work and school. I am relatively large male (6'0" 220), but the straps continuously slide off of my shoulders. I have changed the length of the straps, but I can't seem to find a spot where I do not have to continuously pull the straps back on my shoulders. Also, the pads on the straps for your shoulders need to be adjusted every time you put it on. The bag definitely looks nice though and has held up very well, which is the reason I keep using it despite it being so frustrating. I plan to get another bag now and give this away to someone who wants to give it a shot. My suggestion is to try it out with a few things in it and carry something like a basket of laundry and make sure it doesn't annoy you.
Received this backpack for Christmas and couldn’t be more excited to use it. The handles/straps on the back of the bag are strong and very sturdy. The bag came very well packaged in its own dust bag. To top it off, the leather smells great!
