No. At 9.05" height, it’s optimized for laptop carry, not full-size paper folders. If you need paper-first capacity, move to the Plume Large (15").

A messenger is fastest for access, but it’s still a one-strap carry. Keep the load lean, wear it crossbody (bag riding higher, not hanging low), and let the shoulder pad sit across your chest line for stability on longer walks.
Is it secure for city use?
Yes. You have a zip pocket outside, a zip pocket inside, and a dedicated laptop compartment. Keep valuables in the interior zipper pocket for best security.

Leather is not waterproof. In real use it handles light rain well, but if it gets wet: wipe it dry and never store it damp.
What leather is it, and why does it look different piece to piece?
We use full-grain leather with natural grain and tone variation. Real leather isn’t a uniform plastic sheet; variation is the authenticity signal.
What is the difference between Full-Grain and "Genuine" Leather?
We never use "genuine leather," which is often just scraps glued together. At Yukon, we only use Premium Full-Grain Crazy Horse Leather. This is the highest grade of leather available. It’s the top layer of the hide, meaning it retains all the natural strength and fibers. It doesn’t just last for years; it’s built to last for generations.
Does Crazy Horse leather scratch easily? Is that normal?
Yes, light marks are normal and part of the pull-up character. Those “wear signals” are what turn into patina, not product failure.
Will the dye transfer to hands, paper, or my bag?
It’s uncommon in normal dry use, but any dyed leather can transfer color when wet + friction are involved. Avoid using it against light fabrics in rain/sweat conditions.
How do I maintain and clean the leather?
Crazy Horse leather is low maintenance.
- Weekly: Wipe dust off with a dry, soft cloth.
- Yearly: Apply a high-quality leather conditioner (like a wax or balm) to keep the leather supple and hydrated. Avoid chemical detergents or soap.

IF YOUR YUKON CRAZY HORSE LEATHER BAG GETS WET:
- Simply wipe dry with a soft leather cloth.
- Do not store your bag while wet.
- Wipe off any moisture before storing to prevent mold or mildew.
- After drying bag: Hang to dry or turn bag inside-out.
- Do not use a hairdryer or any type of heat to dry your bag. Applying heat can cause the leather to crack or harden.
FOR SPILLS:
- Wipe spills off with a slightly dampened cloth.
- Do NOT use detergents or cleansers on your Crazy Horse leather bag – this will discolor the leather and can destroy the beauty of the bag.

TO AVOID STRETCHING THE LEATHER:

TO KEEP YOUR CRAZY HORSE LEATHER SOFT AND SUPPLE:
- TEST a small patch before coating entire bag. Some products can change the color of the leather.
- Apply a THIN, even layer of leather balm or leather wax to your bag with a soft, clean sponge.
- Wipe off any excess balm (or wax) with a soft, dry, leather cloth.

STORING YOUR CRAZY HOUSE LEATHER BAG:

I have always loved messenger bags. I have owned several over the years, but I struggled to find the perfect bag, that is until I discovered Yukon. The moment I saw the Plume leather messenger bag on their website, I had to have it, and I was not disappointed. When I opened the box and removed the leather satchel from its protective covering, I was in awe of its beauty and craftmanship. This bag is gorgeous, extremely well made and I am certain it will last many, many years with proper care.
It is large enough to carry a 13–14-inch laptop, accessories and all other needs like pads, paper and pens. Lots of storage. I was able to move all my items that I had stored in my old, slightly larger bag into the Yukon with no trouble at all. This is truly a superb leather messenger bag, and I do not hesitate in recommending it to anyone looking for a classic, refined bag to tote your items.

I’m ridiculously picky about purses and this one checks off all the boxes! It is the PERFECT size for an everyday bag. It’s sort of a hybrid of a briefcase and a purse, with lots of handy pockets and organizational features, but a compact size that’s easy to carry. Not heavy at all. I feel like Yukon Bags put so much thought into its design. I love the webbing on the inside of the strap because it stays put on my shoulder. I really wanted a purse that could withstand hardy, daily wear and the leather, zippers and construction of this bag are all superb! I wanted to include a photo of me carrying the bag so everyone could see what a practical size it is. If I had one criticism, it’s that I wish the buckles were magnetized, but they’re still easy to open and close. I received the bag in less than a week, and it came beautifully packaged with a very nice dust cover. Great company and superior product. Thanks Yukon Bags!

Yukon bags still has yet to let me down. With the quality and craftsmanship of each and everything they do. I own quite a few items from them ranging from a wallet to the large harper bag. I am again in awh of how much care and quality went into this. I bought it because my harper bag has lasted me 3 years whereas other backpacks last me 3 months. As well as needing something to put paper work in now and keep it organized. Really like the buckles and the adjustable strap. The zipper quality is top notch, it looks and will last a very long time just basing it off my other purchases. One thing about the website is that they should offer a way to tip after you purchase might incentivise people who are unsure about your product. I can assure you you won't be disappointed ordering one of these.
